Market Development Programme

The Market Development Programme (MDP) encourages Fife companies to develop their markets and exploit new opportunities.  The MDP helps companies attend exhibitions and events across the UK and overseas.

Fife Council, through the MDP, has designed exhibition stands to suit participating companies at each event.  These events have included the speciality and fine food fair and the Renewable UK conferences.

A previous evaluation found the MDP had been a success and was fit for purpose.  Fife Council planned to further develop and broaden the programme.  An evaluation was needed to assess the impact of the MDP and whether it continues to be a success and fit for purpose.

4-consulting provided an evaluation to help shape future delivery of the MDP as Fife Council plays a more active role in recruiting companies from key industries. The evaluation measured the effectiveness of the MDP, how it tackles market failure and supports business growth.  The evaluation also addressed cost effectiveness and value for money.
