Lennoxtown Charrette

4-consulting were asked to provide a review of the local economy for a Charrette in Lennoxtown. A charrette is an intensive planning session where citizens, designers and others collaborate on a vision for development. It provides a forum for ideas and offers the unique advantage of giving immediate feedback to the designers.

4-consulting were part of a team that including town planners, economists and architects.  4-consulting showed that the population of Lennoxtown is growing at a rate similar to that of the United States and more than double that of Scotland. 4-consulting also showed that for every 10 people in Lennoxtown there are only two jobs. This is well below the Scottish figures of around five jobs for every 10 people.

4-consulting undertook in-depth primary research including a town asset audit and business workshops, both of which were key to the success of the Charrette.
